show Abstracthide AbstractThis project provides a new transcriptome assembly for the Tasmanian devil (Sarcophilus harrisii). Frozen tissue RNA extractions were performed by Max Stammnitz (Department of Veterinary Medicine, University of Cambridge, UK).
Data citation
For use of these resources, please cite: The evolution of two transmissible cancers in Tasmanian devils (Stammnitz et al. 2023, Science 380:6642) Comment
RNA for this species transcriptome annotation was sourced from 33 Tasmanian devils between 2003 and 2017, and respectively sequenced on the equivalent of 1/3 of an Illumina HiSeq 4000 lane, yielding about 100 Million 75bp PE reads per sample. Mostly in biological duplicates, the featured tissues are: axillary nerve, bone marrow, brachial plexus nerve, brain stem, cerebellum, cerebrum, heart, liver, lung, optic nerve, ovary, pancreas, sciatic nerve, skin, spleen, testis, thyroid and trigeminal nerve.
